The most urgent need is good housing. We are looking for landlords willing to house refugee families.

If you are a landlord or would like to help find landlords, please visit our dedicated landlords page.

We support the families settling in to Lambeth to get to know their local area, build confidence, access services and develop new skills. In this way, they can build happier lives in the UK. We visit the families on a regular basis and have hosted several parties in our homes to connect the families to each other and to us and to our local communities. We especially welcome people who speak Arabic or who have experience teaching English as a foreign language.

Contact James Asfa to volunteer.

The new families' homes are part-furnished but they will need many day-to-day items such as bedding and kitchen items, as well as ‘luxury’ items like a television or computer.

Contact James Asfa to donate items or if you can help deliver them.

As well as the 23 families that will be resettled by Lambeth Council over the next few years, it is possible for faith and community groups to sponsor Syrian refugees. Lambeth Palace is already sponsoring one Syrian family. To sponsor a refugee family you need to find a property, raise £9,000 and have a plan to undertake the necessary casework and support.

Contact James Asfa to find out more about community sponsorship.

As well as raising funds to provide things such as TV licenses for the families, we need funding to pay for the organising staff to maintain the welcome teams.

You can donate into a restricted fund through our parent charity Citizens UK here.
